To support the “IMANI Africa” Agenda, four specialised centers have been set-up. Each of them focuses on a number of thematic research issues. Being a multidisciplinary platform, the introduction of the centers enables the think tank to pay critical attention to as many domestic and African issues as possible. Research issues considered by the various centers include: economics, politics, governance, business, law, education, agriculture, climate change, health, energy among others. The centers include: Centre for the Study of Energy & Natural Resources, Centre for Social Policy, Center for Economic Governance and Political Affairs, and Centre for Climate Change, Agriculture and Environmental Studies. Each centre is headed by one in-house expert assisted by other centre members.
